WHERE:              Mahwah High School Tennis Courts

HOW:                  CLINIC

Tennis is taught in an instructional clinic format with 6-7 children per court. Children will be separated by Age Groups. Groups will be co-ed. Basic skills are taught (forehand, backhand, serve, & volley). Depending on progress, we will attempt to play games by the end of the season to teach scoring & apply skills.

WHAT (do you need):

Bring a children’s tennis racquet that is size and age appropriate. Tennis shoes or cross-training sneakers (no sandals!) and loose clothing should be worn, preferably sweatpants in cooler weather and shorts on the warmer days. Don’t forget water!

INSTRUCTORS/COACHES:

If you are interested in volunteering as a supervisor and/or instructor, please indicate this at the time of registration. NOTE: The Mahwah Youth Tennis Program has been short on volunteers for teaching and/or supervising the sessions. In order to ensure that the program is able to offer quality instruction with sufficient staff, the program is leveraging the services of a professional organization. This approach was trialed on a limited basis last year and proved valuable to augmenting the program. Therefore, the majority of the program will be staffed by professional instructors.

NOTE: In order to ensure quality playing time and maintain an orderly operating environment, the number of children being accepted by the tennis program will be capped.
